Stupid Face Plant Tuna Melt

i finally saw the leaf blowers in the front yards,
10 days into my stay in the suburbs. i followed them
back to their children's soccer games/bridal showers.
we held hands and stared out at the after-school traffic,
praying for the safe returns of au pairs to mothers.
the "lol" spiritual laugh-wakening was put on hold
in lieu of an ex-hooker trying to make a name for herself.
she said she knew a man who lived in this dumpster
and drank green tea ("the drink of champions" -me).

the hallways were filled with broken computers
and internet providers gone awol. (away without love)...
the committee to promote thirsty thursday had met earlier
and submitted their notes to city hall. happy hour was
looking promising but it was first and ten, and it
clearly stated in the docket. that the first beer.
couldn't be opened until a touchdown.
so. we. sat. and texted our moms to let them know
that we hadn't blacked out yet.
and asked if the au pair made it home ok.
