Silently scrutinized scenery
Through the car window
Saw my transparent reflection
Stretched over a northeastern landscape
A meadow and a mighty river
Tick, throb, thud
Through my jaw
Heard my heart tock
Wondered how the countryside would age
Who would outlast one another
She or I
Innocent invented incest
Nature’s not my mother, but my sister
A whore and
Our Father
Has warned me all my life
She had nothing to lose
Not innocence
Just another sawdust doll
